OUR BACKGROUND
How We Got Here

The homestead of Route One was purchased in 1989 by Mark Ernest; the owner and operator.
The land in which our produce and flowers grow had been worked long before Mark planted his own, by his father, Claude Ernest who owned and operated his own produce company.
What started out as a simple garden has grown over the years, blossoming into partnerships and Maritime-wide sales.
In 2018, our pumpkins were sold and shipped to communities in Newfoundland and our squash were sold to local grocery stores in the Annapolis Valley.
In 2019, both our pumpkins and squash were sent to muliple Farm Markets around Nova Scotia. Our remaining produce such as cucumbers, beans, peas, tomatoes and greens were sold at our roadside stand, which was looked after by Mark's two youngest daughters.
